6 Ways To Motivate Yourself To Go To The Gym

If your anything like me going to the gym can feel like hard work especially when starting out but I found by trying out following tips I was able to get into a consistent routine which is certainly paying off.

Pick A Good Gym

If the gym you are attending is 20 years old and run down chances are your not going to want to rush it on cold mornings or after work. Look for Gyms with great facilities such as swimming pool , sauna, great changing rooms and  air conditioning. This will go a long way to getting you out of the house or office and into the gym.

Be Realistic

Start off by setting attainable goals. Start off slow and build up. Set an easy target of going twice a week. Even if its for just 30 mins each time it’s a great start. Once you’ve hit this initial goals increase the duration to an hour twice a week. Once you’ve got into this routine the next step is to slowly increase the visits to a level you’re comfortable with.  Remember it’s a marathon and not a sprint.

Reward Yourself

At the end of each week once you complete you goals, give yourself a pat on the back by giving yourself a small reward for making the effort to go to the gym . It could be a coffee, some new clothes, a trip to the cinema. Go on you deserve it.

Buddy Up

Team up with a family member or friend and start going to the gym together. Having a buddy will help motivate you and provide that support when you most need it. Gyms often have fitness pal or buddy programs and can match you with a person who is at the same level of fitness. Not only will it help you but you in turn can become a motivator.

Listen To Music

One of the best ways is to create a playlist of songs with a strong beat that can drive you through your gym routine. Services like Spotify have many gym playlists that are great to keep you going through your routine.

Keep Track Of Your Progress

At times it can be difficult seeing the progress being made but every time you go to the gym you’re benefiting your body and your mind. T help track this progress there are many free tools and apps available to track your gym visits. Search in the App Store or Google play stores for Fitness Trackers and install them on your mobile. You’ll be surprised by how much progress you can make in a really short time.

Well that’s it. Hope the above tips will help you reach your goals.
